The Boruto series has continued the legacy of Naruto in many ways, and while it certainly has failed in some aspects, it is doing more than just well as of late. With Two Blue Vortex, the series is now better than ever before, and hopefully, it will continue to ramp up the intensity in the coming weeks. Of course, when one speaks of the various plot lines surrounding the main characters of Boruto, the Otsutsuki Clan comes to mind.

In Boruto, fans have already been introduced to quite a few new members of the Otsutsuki Clan, but, it appears that there are a few more Otsutsuki that are yet to appear, and the author of the series, along with the creator, Kishimoto, have already hinted at them on more occasions than one.

The Otsutsuki of The Boruto Series So Far
- Boruto Has Seen The Introduction Of Many New Otsutsuki
- Isshiki Posed A Strong Challenge For Naruto
So far, the fans have seen quite a few members of the Otsutsuki clan already. The very first ones to be introduced in Boruto were Kinshiki and Momoshiki. They appeared in Naruto: Boruto the Movie, and were personally created by none other than Kishimoto. When it comes to these two, fans know that Kinshiki was the weaker one of the two, while Momoshiki was stronger. Naturally, a fight between these members of the Otsutsuki clan and the Shinobi took place later down the line in Boruto, and it resulted in the defeat of none other than the Otsutsuki kind. The Otsutsuki ended up being defeated in combat by the likes of Naruto and Sasuke. Fans know that after Momoshiki’s defeat, he inscribed his Karma onto Boruto Uzumaki, and from there onwards, Boruto drove forward the plot of the Otsutsuki through a new manga written by Ikemoto and supervised by Kishimoto.

Boruto then went on to introduce two new Otsutsuki, but only one of them is canonical to the manga, and this person is none other than Isshiki. He was revealed as the main antagonist of the story, and his battles against Naruto and Sasuke were certainly enjoyed by the fans to the fullest. Fans found out that Isshiki was betrayed by Kaguya and had to play his cards very carefully in order to return to full power. His plan was to take over Kawaki's body and, eventually, use this body to respawn into his true form and even consume the chakra fruit to gain higher power. When compared to the likes of Kaguya and others, Isshiki was on an entirely different level.

In fact, it has been officially confirmed that Isshiki was senior and was most likely stronger in many ways than Kaguya. Everything about him was absolutely incredible and his strength was such that even Naruto and Sasuke put together could not defeat him. Of course, in order to defeat him, Naruto had to access a higher form of power, which came through Baryon Mode. Using the power of Baryon Mode, Naruto defeated him and finished things off. To the fans, this felt like the end of the Otsutsuki that was seen on planet Earth.
However, Kawaki had other plans following Isshiki's defeat. Seeing the defeat of Isshiki, he personally wanted to cleanse the Otsutsuki lot, including his own brother, Boruto Uzumaki. This implies there are more Otsutsuki left in the Boruto series, and this has been directly implied by the author in Boruto chapter 35.

Kishimoto Hints At Two More Unknown Otsutsuki
Two More Otsutsuki Symbols Have Been Revealed
In Boruto chapter 35, which was shortly before the battle between Jigen and the duo of Naruto and Sasuke began, Sasuke visited the dimension hosted the Ten Tails to sneak up on Jigen. At the same time, there were symbols of the Otsutsuki Clan on the wall. The first two symbols belong to none other than Momoshiki and Kinshiki. This was clear from the horn pattern drawn on the walls. The one on the bottom, towards the very left, belonged to Kinshiki, while the one above him was none other than Momoshiki.

In the middle, two more patterns were observed. Here, the top one belonged to Isshiki Otsutsuki, as was clear from the horn-shaped pattern, and the one below him was none other than Kaguya's. However, much to the surprise of the fans, there was another duo to the right of this pair and both of their symbols were completely destroyed. It was unclear as to who these two are, and fans still have not found an answer to this question. These two are most certainly going to be relevant in the future of Boruto, especially because they have been hinted at in the story and the author is clearly setting them up to be major villains later down the line.

Of course, the author showed them obscurely in the manga, and no questions were raised regarding them at the time, which was largely down to the fact that the threat of Jigen was looming large. However, when one goes through the Boruto story once again, it is quite easy to see that these two Otsutsuki are going to play some sort of a big role later down the line. So far, there is one that could fit the billing of these two newly introduced monsters, and he's none other than Shibai Otsutsuki.

Will Another Otsutsuki Show Up In Boruto?
An Unnamed Otsutsuki Is Missing in Boruto
As fans know, Shibai is an individual who will, in one way or another, show up in Boruto. He is the strongest individual in the entire franchise by far, and this has been proven by the fact that he even left his physical body behind and ascended to a state of godhood. Shibai consumed so many chakra fruits that his techniques evolved to the level of Shinjutsu, and he essentially obtained a state where he exists beyond mortality. Shibai’s powerful Jutsu make him the mightiest individual to ever exist in the series, which means that he could potentially be one of the two Otsutsuki that were teased in chapter 35 of the series.

But, at the same time, fans know that there exists another Otsutsuki, given that Shibai too traveled in a pair. This means that there is another Otsutsuki that fans have not seen in the Boruto series yet, other than Shibai. This Otsutsuki could show up later down the line in the series and play the role of a major villain. In fact, there exists the possibility of even Shibai showing up later down the line and playing a big role in the story in one way or another. This would give Boruto and Kawaki a major villain to team up against, and even present an enemy for the likes of Naruto and Sasuke to fight against as well. Hopefully, fans will be satisfied with whatever is to come in the future regarding the Otsutsuki.
Boruto is available to read via Viz Media. The series can be read by the fans officially and for free on the Shonen Jump and the Manga Plus app. The release date for the next chapter of Boruto, Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter 17, is set to be December 20, 2024.
