Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story, A trio of original production concept art design storyboards (2024)

A trio of original concept art designs / storyboards from the production of the beloved biopic, 'Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story' (Universal Pictures, 1993), starring Jason Scott Lee and Lauren Holly and directed by ace-helmer, Rob Cohen ('The Fast and The Furious', 'Dragonheart').

Hand-painted by famed production artist, Nikita Knatz (Batman Returns and Predator), these three beautifully illustrated storyboards depict the character of Bruce Lee in a disturbing encounter with his demonic nemesis during the filming of 'Enter the Dragon's climactic fight sequence. All three storyboards are rendered in mixed media. Interestingly, the sequence showcases an alternative version of Bruce's encounter with the phantom's on the Hall of Mirror's set.. Each storyboard includes production-notes detailing the intended shot-sequence. For example: 'BL (+reflected in mirrors) is suddenly knocked off of his feet'. The first storyboard is identified by the designation '10A' in the top right corner, the second by the number '12' in the same position, and the third by the number '13'. All three feature the original punch holes from the art-department compilation-deck.

The sequence, which appears in the released version of the film, does not include the phantom striking with the Quan'Do. Instead, after appearing as multiple reflections in the Hall of Mirrors, the phantom breaks through the glass, charges Bruce and ultimately drags him into another reality, where he is given a preview of his own gravestone...

The storyboards remain in very good 'production-used' condition, with only minor handling-wear, and are perfect for framing...
